What is a Feedback?

Author: David Skul

Feedback is made up of comments and ratings left by other eBay members you've bought from and sold to. These comments and ratings are valuable indicators of your reputation as a buyer or seller on eBay. They are included, along with an overall feedback score, in the Member Profile.

How it works?

+1 feedback score for each positive comment and rating left for you. 0 points to your feedback score for each neutral comment and rating left for you. -1 point to your feedback score for each negative comment and rating left for you. Youll get a feedback star once you have 10 or more comments and ratings left for you.

An example, nestler2548 means that the eBay member with the User ID "nestler" has received positive feedback from at least 2548 other eBay members.

Before you bid on an item, you can check the seller's Member Profile by clicking on the feedback score next to their User ID, or by searching for them in the Feedback Forum. Sellers may also want to view the Member Profiles of buyers to see how reliable they have been in other transactions.

Do you need some Feedback Tips?

It is very important that you always leave a feedback after a transaction so that other members may benefit from your experience. Usually, a high feedback score and high positive feedback percentage is a good sign, but you should always check your seller/buyer's Member Profile for negative remarks.

Keep your Member Profile open for public. Buyers may be wary of trading with someone with a private Member Profile.

You should always contact the seller or buyer to resolve any issues before leaving negative feedback.

You cannot remove feedbacks you've left, so be sure to make only fair and factual comments and give ratings that relate to a specific transaction. And how do I leave a feedback for another member?

Click on the My eBay button at the top of any eBay page. Click on the "Feedback" link under "My Account" on the left-hand side of the page.

Click on the Leave Feedback button.

From this page you'll be able to leave feedback for other members you've had transactions with during the past 90 days. In the Member Profile page you can review and respond to the feedbacks left about you.

You can look for a list of all the sales and purchases you need to give a feedback for.

Always remember that any feedback you leave will be public open and substantial, so make sure that your comments are correct.
