Pregnancy tests that you can take at home are one of the most sensible purchases you will ever make. Not only are they quite economical, but they will give you a piece of mind that you just can't put a price on. More importantly, the more options you have that are available to you, especially if the pregnancy is not a planned one,
1. Free Pregnancy Testing
It is believed by many that young girls should have access to free pregnancy testing options. If they have had unprotected sex, then speaking to a school councilor or youth leader will help to locate the nearest free testing facility or womens centre. Some highschools even carry these testing kits in the nurses office.
2. The Concequences Are Not Worth It
Many young girls feel embarrassed about seeking help, or afraid that their parents will find out. In this case they need to ask the people about confidentiality issues prior to telling them what it is they need. In the event that the girl is in fact pregnant then she should be given the opportunity to tell her parents on her own. There are, of course, some exceptions to this rule. For example, if the girl becomes an immediate danger to herself or others after finding out the results of the tests - perhaps becoming suicidal - then there is just cause for a counsellor to contact the parents or other experts regarding everything.
3. How To Get Free Pregnancy Testing Kits
Young teens can check in at their local health clinic and ask about a free pregnancy testing kit. If the test is negative, then the staff in these clinics are qualified to advise the teen on birth control options so that she doesn't become so scared about an unplanned pregnancy that she takes drastic and dangerous action. They will also be able to give the teen information about sexually transmitted diseases, as well as carry out any tests for these that may seem necessary. Although many parents are not happy about the fact that their teenage daughter can have access to this kind of information, and even the free pregnancy test without their knowledge and consent most of them also accept that it's better that the teen have somewhere to go from qualified people than nowhere to go and possibly letting the problem slide until it becomes much more of a problem. |
