Ceremony Planning: Who, What, When and Where

Author: 123456789
The wedding reception is often times more fun to plan but remember the wedding ceremony is the wedding. Follow the Who, What, When, and Where tools below to make your ceremony planning just a bit easier!

WHO?
The first question to ask yourself is who you are having this wedding for. Do you want it to be small and intimate, for only close family and friends or are you planning a celebration of a lifetime and want everyone to be included? That is a decision that will determine the big picture of your wedding.

Once you have decided who the ceremony is for, the other who is, who will be planning your wedding? Whoever plans your wedding it must be someone you trust and respect. Planning a wedding requires honesty and understanding someone else's vision. You have a vision of your wedding that you have been planning since you were five and now it is time to put it into action. Often times a wedding coordinator will be hired because she is an expert and has no connection to the families. If you are considering a wedding consultant make sure that your personality's match'she will become not only your wedding planner but your combatant.

WHAT?
Now it is time to decide what kind of wedding you will have. What will the theme be? Will it be a traditional ceremony or non-traditional? What are you and your groom's personalities? What kind of atmosphere to you want to create for your guests? What ethnic, culture, or religious traditions would you like to honor? The easiest way to decide this is write down how you want to feel on your wedding day, take those adjectives and make it happen. The only rule to planning a wedding is there are no rules.

WHEN?
Deciding when you want to have the wedding includes considerations of the season, time of day, month, and day of the week. Traditional weddings used to only be held on Saturday's during the summer months. However these days that is no longer true, nowadays weddings are held any day of the week, at any time of the day, on any given month! Have your wedding when you want to have your wedding, not when everyone else says you should have it. Trust me'they will still come!! Determining the season of your wedding will strictly be determined by weather and life schedules. The time of day the ceremony is held is often reflected on how formal the wedding is. Informal weddings are usually held in the morning or afternoon and formal weddings traditional in the evening beginning after 6 pm.

WHERE?
Where you hold your wedding should reflect all wedding decisions made with Who, What and When above. The location should be appropriate for the time of year and for the theme of your wedding. If you are planning on having a grand formal wedding then you don't want to hold it outside at a corn maze!!! Also make sure that your site accommodates the number of guests that you are inviting. A 300 guest wedding at a Bed and Breakfast may seem like an overcrowded zoo! Remember there are several places that a wedding can be held, everything from a backyard to a hotel ballroom.
