How to Develop a Relationship With Your List

Author: Mike Hill

A subscriber list is one of the most valuable internet marketing tools that you can own.

Since you are working with real people, who are in need of real solutions, it is important to treat them as you would a friend, not just some one you make a few dollars from.

Creating a solid relationship with your subscribers is an art that should not be hurried. You must first get the trust of the people on your list, before trying to sell to them.

When you have gained your subscribers trust and proven to them that you are there to help and not just make money from them, you can then begin marketing to them.

Keep in mind that trust is hard to earn and very quick to lose!

Make sure that you always send quality information about products you personally know work.

Demo's

It's not a bad idea to create a demo video on all products you recommend. Sending such a demo will allow them to see the product in action.

Your point will get across without your subscribers having to read through pages of sales copy and testimonials online.

Commitment

Make a commitment to yourself and your subscribers to communicate with them regularly.

It may be weekly, monthly or even daily, it doesn't matter as long as you choose a regular time to communicate.

It is not important to send your subscriber list a recommendation or product demo every time that you contact them.

You could just write to them to see how they are doing with their project or ask their feedback on a previously recommended product they had purchased.

Offer your subscribers the opportunity to participate by asking them questions.

Another way to keep in contact with your list and keep them interested is to offer them helpful little free gifts or bonuses, this will keep them interested and guarantee they will open all of your e-mails.

Writing to your list

Always write to your list as if you were talking to a friend. Show a genuine interest in who they are and what their interests are.

Be sincere and helpful.

Never push to sell anything to your list.

There is a really good success formula to keep in mind when writing to your subscribers, this is the A.I.D.A. success formula:

A Attention

Grab their attention immediately. Your written communication must make your subscribers want to read the entire message.

If you don't reach out and grab their attention right away, you're message will end up in the trash.

I Interest

Give your subscribers enough details (not sales pitches) to get their interest, nothing more.

This can be done very successfully through the power of good written bullet points.

You can also gain the interest of your readers through story telling... relate something that happened to you recently into your message.

D Desire

Play on their desire to get a problem solved and offer the solution.

This can be done very successfully by introducing a solution you used to help you in your situation as you described throughout you own experience.

A Action

Give your subscribers the information that will motivate them to take action.

Actually tell your readers exactly what you want them to do next. It could be to visit a certain website and submit their name and email address in exchange for a new product.

Take the right approach with your subscribers and prove to them that you are there to help them with proven tips and products, and in time they will trust your word and look forward to receiving your e-mails.
