Online Homework Help Website Idea

Author: Joann Brooks

Helping students with their homework is nothing new, but helping them online might be a new website idea that works for you. Trying to set up a traditional tutoring business at schools in your city can be a lot of work and requires expensive advertising. But, going global and taking it all online as a hobby that you do in your spare time can be fun, inexpensive, and less work than you might imagine. I don't care how uneducated you think that you might be, if you're reading this and understanding it you can at least be someone who teaches others english. However, if you have a special niche area of interest, this can set you apart and make you stand out as an expert in your area. Trying to be everything to everyone is not always the best approach as you are then competing with larger firms that are better able to handle general tutoring to any and all levels of education.

This online homework website idea may particularly appeal to retired teachers, or perhaps teachers that have left to become mom's and are now stay at home moms. Making everything free will help your website to get off to a good start and attract many testimonials for you. Free websites may turn you off if you're concerned about trying to make money from your website right away, but for those that have patience the reward can be big down the road. This idea doesn't really require much web development work or programming at all. You could simply have someone install a forum like vbulletin for you and away you go answering questions right out in the open. You could also install a live chat script and help students in real time. Perhaps, this is where you could make your money. You would offer this as a premium service for those and what help on a regular basis and in realtime. Neither of these scripts are difficult for a web development company to install and customize for you. In the forum is where you show prospective customers the type of help that you can provide them. You could limit the amount of help that you offer for free in the forum and only offer the help on a delayed basis, say within 48 hours. Craiglist.org is one example of how well free websites can work. The domain name has nothing to do with what they do, but they have built a brand for their name over the years by offereing free classified ads. They now get millions of pageviews a month and make money from selling job listings to employers nationwide. I don't know how much they make now, but I imagine Craig is a multi millionaire.

So, if you're up for the challenge take this website idea and if you have any questions about how to go about it, please leave a comment on my website idea blog http://websiteideas.org/online-homework-help
